TOKI-(NERICYA) updated

As with Juda, i have solved the lag problem during his super attacks.
While i was at it, i have improved his Sekkatskuo for p1 and made it more accurate.

Download TOKI

JUDA-(NERICYA) updated

After spending some time checking his *.cns files, i have finally found why there was lag during his super moves and i have eliminated those issues. Now he plays smooth.

TOKI-(NERICYA) updated

While i was playing the ps2 version, i've noticed that when Toki uses Sekkatskuo on his opponent, a small animation is displayed over the opponent's face icon (picture bellow).

Now we have it in mugen too.

Patch for Toki

New palettes for Shin

I had a little free time on my hands so i've gone and polished his C,D and E palettes to resemble the respective palettes from the original game even more.

[AI PATCH] Raoh ATL edited

I had two reasons to go and edit the perfect AI patch that Saikei created for Raoh ATL by Ataru.
1. It was boring to see him do combos an entire round
2. Many people said that it doesn't give any chances for the opponent to fight back.
Therefore, i've went and edited his AI patch and made him stop his combo at certain points.
You will find that the chances of retaliations against him have increased substantially.

Update 10/17/10

I still wasn't happy with the way things turned out with the full game, and i'm still working on improving the chars.

マミヤ
As such, i've edited Mamiya and made her gauges look better than before. I've changed her boost bar and aura bar grid with the original ones. More so, i have edited her special background for her Fatal KO attack, and her aura, and it's now very close to the original. The super_ko background now shows up every time. This is possible due to reducing the number of random explods implemented by Yu-Toharu with explods that have exact coordinates.

ケンシロウ
I have updated Kenshiro also. Gave him taunt speeches and the joystick that appears in the PS2 fighter when he stuns his opponents. And added him the original aura during Fatal KO attack.

Download Kenshiro

トキ
Fixed Toki's aura and Fatal KO attack background, sign and sound. The same as for Mamiya. Reduced the number of random explods and added an exact number.

Download Toki

サウザー
Thouther is updated too. I have added the ground effect for his stomp attack and changed his super background during his Fatal KO attack. Fixed his Kotou Kaiten palfx conflict with his Fatal KO attack background. The FKO background used to glow gold as Thouther, but now only Thouther will glow gold.

Download Thouther

ラオウ
I gave Raoh a new super background during his Fatal KO attack. And successfully eliminated the abundance of bright red in it.

ユダ
I did for him the same thing i did for Toki. Stabilized his FKO background and made his Fatal KO text display properly.

Hokuto no Ken: Shinpan no Sōsōsei Kengō Retsuden M.U.G.E.N. version

Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳, Hokuto no Ken) is a 2D competitive fighting game produced by Sega and developed by Arc System Works, based on the manga series of the same name. It was originally released in 2005 as a coin-operated arcade game for the Atomiswave hardware. A PlayStation 2 port, retitled Hokuto no Ken: Shinpan no Sōsōsei Kengō Retsuden (北斗の拳 ~審判の双蒼星 拳豪列伝~, roughly translated as Fist of the North Star: The Twin Blue Stars of Judgment - History of the Fist Masters), was released in Japan in March 2007.
And here i present you the M.U.G.E.N. version of this game.

Gameplay

While in both terms of gameplay and visual style, the game is similar to the Guilty Gear series (which was also made by Arc System Works), some aspects of the mechanics are slightly different.

Seven Stars of the Hokuto

Below each character's lifebar is a gauge with seven "stars" in the shape of the Big Dipper. Special moves, supers, and some command normals can remove varying amounts of stars. Once empty, a final "Death Star" or "shichousei" will light up and the other player can perform a special "Fatal KO" attack that can instantly defeat them, regardless of their lifebar (similar to the Instant Kill attacks in Guilty Gear.). The biggest difference is these moves may be easily comboed into, making them far more practical than their Guilty Gear counterparts. Players regain two stars at the start of each round, and one star any time an opponent unsuccessfully attempts to Fatal KO. After being Fatal KO'd, if the match is not over, that player starts the following round with all seven stars replenished.

Boost

Boost is one of the many meters in the game, displayed above the Aura meter in the game's HUD. The bar is divided into three sections or stocks. Using a boost (with the Boost/Special button) allows a player to cancel a move after it hits (similar to Roman Cancels in Guilty Gear), and also shoots the character forward. The player can also Boost when not doing a move, in order to jet across the screen quickly. Boosts are frequently used to perform combos that otherwise would not be possible.

Aura

Used to perform super moves and Guard Cancels (similar to alpha counters.) The gauge can hold two stocks. The first stock fills the gauge up with blue; the second stock fills the gauge up with gold. When at least one stock is ready, text reading "GOD FIST BLOW" appears next to the gauge. If the player's opponent has lost all his stars, it will read "DEADLY FIST BLOW."

Characters

The game is based on the first half of the original manga (chapters 1-136) and uses the characters as they were depicted in the 1980's manga and in the anime series. The voices of the playable characters are all performed by the original voice actors from the anime, with the exception of Kenshiro and Rei, who are both played by new actors.
